Check eligibility and choose the official route

Use Indonesian immigration’s current eligibility list and visa portal for the passport and purpose. The published B1 guidance permits one extension up to a total stay of 60 days under its conditions. That is an extension process, not a 60-day permission automatically granted by purchasing the initial visa.

Keep three tasks separate

• Entry permission: the correct visa or exemption for the actual traveller.
• Arrival declarations: check the current Indonesian arrival service and applicable customs or health steps.
• Bali levy: check Love Bali’s current fee, payment instructions and exemptions independently of the visa.

Prepare records you can retrieve without mobile data

Save the visa approval or payment record, relevant arrival acknowledgment and levy voucher under different names. Keep the first accommodation address and onward transport details alongside them. An airport transfer driver cannot fix a mismatch between the passport and an issued visa.

If you plan to remain longer

Check the extension procedure attached to the visa actually issued. An e-VOA and a visa obtained at an arrival counter may involve different application steps. Ask immigration early enough to resolve missing documents rather than expecting an automatic extension at the end of the trip.

Purpose matters as much as duration

Tourism permission is not a general answer for local employment, study or residence. Describe the actual activity when asking immigration which category applies. If travel includes a side trip outside Indonesia, check whether another entry permission and declaration are needed on return.

Budget for the visa and the levy as separate items

For an illustrative eligible traveller using the published Rp500,000 B1 visa and the Rp150,000 Bali levy, those two items total Rp650,000. For two such travellers the arithmetic is Rp1,300,000. This is not a complete trip quote: it excludes any separately applicable payment charges, an extension, other visa products and all travel costs. Check the live fee and exemption position for each person before paying.

A Bali holiday with a side trip to another country needs a new review of the return entry. The initial visa’s permitted stay, its entry count and a provincial levy are separate issues. Put both Indonesia arrivals on the calendar and ask the relevant authority about the documents for the return rather than assuming the first payment covers every later trip.
