Our sourcing approach, checker limitations and correction record.

    Last updated: 25 October 2026

    Our commitment

VoyagerCheck exists to give Australian travellers a clear, honest answer to a single question: do I need a visa, and what does it actually involve? We don't sell visa applications, we aren't an agent, and we don't take referral fees from visa services that materially change what we publish. When we link to a paid product (travel insurance, eSIM, etc.) we disclose it on our Advertising Disclosure page.

    Where our data comes from

    • Primary: destination-country immigration departments and embassies in Australia. Written guides should link the authority supporting the claim. The page-level review record distinguishes revisions from unresolved evidence.
    • Checker data: the interactive checker uses Travel Buddy visa information via RapidAPI. It is not an official immigration decision or a live airline check-in system. Confirm requirements with the relevant authority and operating airline before departure.
    • Australian government: DFAT Smartraveller advisories for safety context, entry restrictions, and consular guidance.
    • Reader reports: contact-form feedback can flag a possible error. It is not treated as independently authenticated reporting without supporting evidence.

    Review cadence

Checker data is cached before a later request refreshes it. Article dates indicate publication or update; they are not a promise that every statement has been independently reverified on that date. We prioritise reported errors and changing entry rules. We do not guarantee a fixed human review interval. A page-level audit record lists the scope and status of the October 2026 review.

    Who writes and reviews

VoyagerCheck is published by Josh P. Research-based planning articles are labelled and may use AI-assisted drafting with links to the sources consulted. They are not presented as first-hand product tests or trip reports. A byline identifies the publisher; it does not imply that every destination or service has been personally visited or tested.

    Corrections policy

If you spot something incorrect — even a single fee or date — email hello@voyagercheck.com.au or use the contact form.

Material corrections (anything that would change a reader's travel decision) include a dated note on the affected page so the change is transparent — we don't quietly overwrite history.

    Publication standards

    • Label illustrative examples and AI-assisted planning copy; publish first-hand accounts only with supporting evidence and permission.
    • Keep visa information and warnings independent of paid placements.
    • Write original explanations and attribute factual claims to the supporting source.
    • Identify commercial links and the basis of any recommendation; do not imply a personal test without evidence.

Before travel: visa rules change. Even with this process, the only authoritative source for your specific situation is the destination country's embassy or consulate at the time you travel. Use VoyagerCheck to plan; verify with the embassy before you book non-refundable flights.
